Spices & Condiments Cardamom, pepper e-marketing put off G.K. Nair
Kochi , Jan. 5 THE official launching of the Spices Board's direct e-marketing of organic pepper and cardamom scheduled for January 20 has been postponed following the cancellation of the Union Commerce Minister's visit to the State. Fresh date for the launch would be announced later, Mr S. Kannan, Director-Marketing, told Business Line on Wednesday. The State Trading Corporation Ltd (STCL), which would be purchasing these commodities as per the quality specifications set by the Board and marketing them, has already bought 500 tonnes each of MG1 and TGBP from Wayanad Service Society and 500 tonnes of cardamom of superior grade of 7.5 mm plus from the auctions, he said. These products would be sold under the brand name "Flavourit". Based on the success of the marketing of these products more spices would be added.
