Allahabad Bank's contribution

KOLKATA: The Chairman and Managing Director of Allahabad Bank, Mr O.N. Singh, has handed over a cheque for Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister, as the bank's contribution to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

The amount constitutes the bank's own donation, and the amount of the one day's equivalent amount of gross salary of all employees.

Mr Singh said the bank has geared up its branches and offices to provide assistance to the tsunami-hit to start a new life. All branches of the bank are facilitating remittances of donations from the public free of charge to the PM's NRF.
