THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Bank of Travancore has entered into a tie-up with Punjab Tractors, manufacturers of the Swaraj brand of tractors, for tractor loans.

A banks spokesman said here that Mr R. G. Gadkari, General Manager of the bank, signed a memorandum of understanding in this connection with the officials of the company at the bank headquarters here on Tuesday.

The company is offering a special cash discount of Rs 3000 for purchases made under this scheme. Farmers who own up to four acres of perennially irrigated land are eligible for finance at a concessional rate of interest with repayment spread over a seven to nine years period.

More details on the scheme can be had from the bank's branches or from the head office over phone: 0471-2352782 or via email: agriho@sbt.co.in.
