Dairy co-ops members to be insured in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has extended its approval to a proposal for inclusion of producer members of primary dairy cooperative societies under the Janasree Bima Yojana of Life Insurance Corporation.

This will enable the nominee to get the insured amount of Rs 20,000 in the event of the natural death of the person. In case of death due to accident, the legal heir will get Rs 50,000.

A payout ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 will be made if an accident results in permanent and complete disability. Scholarships will be granted to the victim's children studying in classes IX to XII. The annual premium is Rs 200.
