Software ESC opens Hyderabad centre Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan. 19 THE Electronics and Computer Software Export Council (ESC) has announced the establishment of its Hyderabad centre and plans to rope in about 300 members by March 2005. ESC, an autonomous body under the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication, has about 2,200 members - 1,200 of them software companies and the rest engaged in hardware, electronics and consumer application areas. The Bangalore centre now has about 500-plus members and its Chennai chapter some 200 members and Hyderabad about 120 now. "The opening of the Hyderabad centre will help us to rope in over 300 members by March-end," the Chairman of ESC, Mr Nalin Kohli, said. The ESC has urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to establish a venture capital fund and an incubation centre in the proposed hardware park to help small and medium seized enterprises.
