SPIC Q3 net loss lower at Rs 30 cr

SPIC has reported a net loss of Rs 30.09 crore for the quarter ended December 2004, compared with a net loss of Rs 44.83 crore for the corresponding quarter of last year. The company's turnover increased to Rs 579.03 crore (Rs 449.75 crore).

In the nine months ended December 2004, SPIC reported a net profit of Rs 97.50 crore, against a net loss of Rs 124.38 crore earlier. This was possible because of a saving of Rs 212.54 crore arising from a restructure of the company's floating rate notes.
