CSC India forays into R&D

COMPUTER Sciences Corporation (CSC), the $15.30-billion services major with six development centres in India across three locations, has announced its foray into R&D as a part of its Global Innovation Programme.

The Vice-President of Global Infrastructure Services of CSC, Mr William Buskrik, and the Director, Global Infrastructure Services, CSC, Mr Brian Manning, said that this a strategic step for CSC, which has grown significantly in India across centres in Noida, Hyderabad and Indore.

"The R&D centres would be based at Hyderabad and Noida and we are in the process of charting out its growth plans."

"The company's India operations have witnessed a growth of about 75 per cent overall and 100 per cent in infrastructure services. The total headcount has been ramped up to about 2,500 people across these centres providing global technology services and support work. The foray into R&D is part of the company's objective to proactively develop and deliver innovative services that enhance business performance and results to enterprises," Mr Buskrik said.

"The Hyderabad centre is set to help the global team develop innovative products in the areas of wireless mobility, storage, security, remote processing and "results-driven computing," Mr Buskrik said.
