IIM-Calcutta, Oracle in pact for e-gov centre

INDIAN Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) has entered into an arrangement with Oracle India Pvt Ltd to set up an e-governance centre of excellence in Kolkata.

The idea behind the initiative is to prepare a white paper on the status and prospect of e-governance in the country.

When ready, the white paper will be submitted to the Department of Information Technology, Government of India.

According to informed sources, to begin with, five professors of IIMC would be associated with the project, and could be increased at a later date depending upon the requirement.

The sources said IIMC has decided to offer management development programmes.
