Rubber turns weak on slack trading

SPOT rubber prices turned weak on Friday as market participants kept low trading interest. The activities were narrow in the absence of quantum transactions.

The exceptions were ISNR 20 and latex, which were steady and inactive.

NMCE rubber futures were also weak. The February contract was quoted at Rs 51.50 a kg (51.88), March at Rs 52.54 (52.93), April at Rs 55.71 (56.10) and May at Rs 56.93 (57.25) for RSS 4. The spot rubber rates per kg on Friday were RSS-4 52 (52.25), RSS-5 50.50 (50.75), ungraded 49.50 (50), ISNR 20 51 (51), and latex 60% 39.50 (39.50).
