New Delhi , Feb. 4 WITH the services sector assuming a dominant share in the country's gross domestic product, newer opportunities were opening up for chartered accountants, particularly in the area of export of accountancy services. Stressing on this point in his address at the 55th annual session of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India here today, the Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, asked CAs to improve their global competitiveness through re-training and continuous upgradation of skills. "The name of the game in the services sector is global competitiveness. You must also remember that the quality of your service would in the international arena reflect on the reputation of the entire service sector of India," he said. Mr Kamal Nath also released the rules framed by the ICAI for enabling the networking as well as consolidation (mergers/demergers) amongst CA firms.
