Syndicate Bank chief urges officials to take bank to greater heights

Mangalore , Feb. 7

THE Chairman and Managing Director of Syndicate Bank, Mr Kantha Kumar, has urged the officials to take the bank to greater heights.

Inaugurating the fourth triennial conference of Syndicate Bank Officers' Association here on Saturday, he said that the regional managers' meet recently had chalked out a plan to take the bank to greater heights.

I will visit as many regional offices possible in my tenure, Mr Kumar said.

In his introductory address, the General Secretary of the association, Mr K.S. Shetty, said that the proposed move to bring in consolidation in banking industry is a plan to `sell' the profit-making economic powerhouses to the multinational companies at one stroke.

The move is not at all in the interest of the nation or the common man. The association will strongly oppose this, he said.
