Cognizant Q4 net nearly doubles

COGNIZANT Technology Solutions Corporation has reported a net income of $30.6 million on revenues of $172.8 million for the fourth quarter ended December 2004 compared to $17.7 million and $108.2 million respectively in the corresponding previous quarter.

The US-based firm that is listed on Nasdaq has development centres in India.

For the year ended December 2004, it reported a net income of $100.2 million ($57.4 million) on revenues of $586.7 million ($365.7 million).

"We attribute our growth to a number of factors, all of which reflect the success of our focus on providing customers with business-driven technology solutions through our onsite, offshore model," the Cognizant President and CEO, Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, said in a press release.
