Textiles Marketing - Online Marketing Textile deals at Tirupur-Korea video interface Our Bureau
Coimbatore , Feb. 15 AN interface between Tirupur-based textile/garment industries and the Korean companies specialising in textile fibre/textile machinery through video conference here has led to a business contract proposals for $11.550 million on the opening day today. The proposed deals are related to buying expressions in fabrics, yarns and textile machinery, according to officials of the Korea Trade Centre (KTC) from Chennai, which has organised the two-day video conferencing. The video-conference is being held in association with the Union Government's Textiles Committee, which is also involved in the Tirupur knitwear cluster development programme. According to Mr Lee Joong-Sun, Director of the KTC, Chennai, about 100 Indian textile firms held negotiations with 17 Korean companies. To facilitate the Indian buyers, the KTC had also arranged for display of synthetic textile products such as fibres, yarns and fabrics (samples). About 17 Indian companies wanted to physically visit Korea to inspect the textile machinery before firming deals. These Indian buying companies had offered to take advantage of the fair to be held in Korea's Daegu city in March. Similarly, seven Indian companies expressed interest in taking up dealership in two of the Korean firms, Dae Hyun Tech Co Ltd, Chengoon and Saanyong. Two Korean fabric companies, Mi Jarquatech and Korea Silkroad would give dealership to two Indian companies.
