Hyderabad , Feb. 17

THE K. Raheja group, developers of Mindspace IT Park here, with about one million sq ft, plans to add another million sq ft in about 12 months.

Laying the foundation stone for Maximus in Mindspace IT Park on Wednesday, the State Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, hinted that the State Government was in the process of finalising plans for three more IT parks and assured transparency in allocation of the development of these projects.

In order to complement the growth of the technology sector, Dr Reddy said a series of initiatives have been taken up to further strengthen the city infrastructure and decongest the existing arterial roads.

These include a eight-lane ring road and development of townships dotting it.

Dr Reddy complimented the promoters of Mindspace for contributing to the development of IT infrastructure in the city.

Maximus will host about 8,00,000 sq ft of built up space and is expected to be completed within the next 12 months.

The project layout provides about 40 per cent open space with excellent telecom and civic amenities, wide roads and ample greenery. Mindspace Hyderabad currently hosts Bank of America centre, CSC, Qualcomm and Oracle, among several other IT players.

In about 16 months, Mindspace has completed about one million sq ft of built up space. About 4,000 jobs have been created so far in the facility, which can host about 10,000 when completed.

The Director of Raheja Group, Mr Ravi Raheja, said that the Mindspace IT Park would generate employment to about 10,000 people in a calendar year, and this is by far the largest such job creating park in the country.

The Rahejas have developed the project as a place for work and leisure and the park hosts hotels, fitness, recreation and entertainment centres complementing work environment.

Mindspace Hyderabad is a joint venture project between the K. Raheja Corp and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd.
