AP CM asks officials to expedite airport work

Hyderabad , Feb. 22

THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has asked the officials to prepare an action plan in order to build flyovers and good approach roads connecting the upcoming Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

In a review meeting held here on Tuesday, he directed the officials to ensure provision of basic facilities and coordination between various departments to complete the Rs 1,400-crore airport on time.

Mr Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Managing Director of GMR, and Mr B.V. Nageswara Rao, Director, assured the Government that they would commence the construction activity of runway and terminal buildings within the next four months.

Issues such as land acquisition and concession in taxes on construction material were discussed at the meeting.
