Madurai Aavin sets sales record

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: The Madurai District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union, Aavin Madurai, has set a sales record for the first time, selling 1,21,100 litres of milk a day.

Till a couple of years ago, it sold only about 75,000 litres a day.

The success has been attributed to the marketing strategy of making milk and milk products available in all rural and urban centres by appointing agents or extending concessions, according to the District Collector and Special Officer of the Aavin, Mr D. Raajendiran.
