Kanara Chamber for IT park in Mangalore

THE Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) has urged the Karnataka Government to build an information technology (IT) park in Mangalore.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr N. Dharam Singh, KCCI said that the Indian outsourcing industry is expanding beyond Bangalore to other cities, and Mangalore is considered as the next best destination for IT and IT-enabled services (ITES). Many IT and ITES companies are planning to open their branches in the city. The Software Technology Park of India (STPI) in Mangalore provides incubation facilities to promote and motivate IT entrepreneurs , and six incubators are fully functional.
