Announcements Marketing - IPR Natco Pharma gets European patent for soft gel capsules Our Bureau
Hyderabad , March 9 NATCO Pharma Ltd (NPL) on Wednesday announced that it has received a European patent for its invention of soft gel capsules with an innovative drug delivery system. The company informed stock exchanges that the patent was registered in France, Germany and the UK. The company is also registering the patent in Canada, the US and Japan. With several drugs set to go off patent in the next few years, Natco Pharma said its invention would provide several opportunities for commercial exploitation. The company is expecting the innovation to be the preferred option for all Benzamidazole derivatives, especially omeprazole and lansaprazole, in soft gel form. It said that the grant of European patent ensured it has exclusive use of the delivery system specified by it in the patent. The company was also exploring the possibility of tie-ups for commercial exploitation of the patent.
