Himalya Intl bags Rs 5.4-cr US order

Mumbai , March 9

HIMALYA International Ltd has informed the BSE that it has received an order for 1.5 million lbs of specialty baby potatoes with skin-on valued at Rs 5.4 crore for the US-based Acme Group.

The product will be re-packed in 12 ounce by a US food giant and sent to Acme, the major supermarket chain.

The group has 2,400 stores spread across 38 States making it the second largest `food-drug' retailer in the US, according to a company release.

The negotiations are on with another high-end chain Trader Joe's for this product.

The total volume of this product in 2005 is expected to be 2.5 million lbs valued at Rs 8 crore, the release said.
