Mumbai , March 10

KERALA-based Malabar Gold on Thursday announced tennis sensation Sania Mirza as its brand ambassador.

"The company is now going national," said Mr M.P. Ahamed, Chairman of Malabar Gold, which is one of the largest sellers of hallmarked gold jewellery in Kerala.

"Sania Mirza is featured in both her current avatar as a tennis icon and in a never-before glamorous look. These two avatars represent Malabar Gold: beauty and quality," Mr Ahamed said.

Malabar Gold also announced its expansion plans across the country. The group will launch its seventh showroom and the first outside Kerala in Bangalore in April. It plans to open more showrooms in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad in a phased manner.
