Salman Khan to endorse `Dollar' undergarments

SALMAN Khan has just been roped in as brand ambassador of Dollar undergarments for the next two years.

According to Mr Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Bhawani Textiles, a Kolkata-based firm, "Our products stand for comfort, quality and elegance. So Salman Khan is the right person to promote our products and reflect the qualities we endorse."

Answering a question on why he would endorse an undergarment brand, Mr Khan said that there were three kinds of products he was hoping to endorse — vests, bicycles and razors. He added that Dollar vests appealed to him and he even had the cut reworked to suit him.

The actor has already shot an ad film for the company, which, according to Mr Gupta, will be aired on television channels on March 11.

According to Mr Gupta, Bhawani Textiles manufactures has two units, in Kolkata and Tirupur, where 2.5 lakh pieces are manufactured daily. He added that the company already exports its products to Latin America and the West Asian region and has a 14 per cent share of the Indian market.
