ING Vysya `health run' in Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATNAM: ING Vysya Bank is organising a health run here on Sunday on the Ramakrishna beach at 6 a.m. "as part of discharging its social obligations," according to Mr A. Omkareswar, Associate Vice-President and regional head.

He said at a press meet here on Friday that the bank would offer prizes for the participants in different age groups — up to 20 years, those in the 20-40 age group and those above 40. He said the International Netherlands Group (ING) had contributed $1 million towards the tsunami relief fund and ING Vysya Bank had donated Rs 25 lakh to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

ING Vysya Foundation had taken up watershed development in Rajasthan and it had adopted government schools in Hyderabad. He said the Visakhapatnam region comprised the four districts of Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari. The deposits in the region amounted to Rs 405 crore and the advances Rs 190 crore.
