New Delhi , March 21

THE J&K State Road Transport Corporation has selected Ashok Leyland's `Stag' buses for the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad service. The buses would be deployed on the 170-km route, the company release said.

"J&K SRTC is extremely happy to be spearheading this operation. We have chosen the stag buses since they are suited to the terrain while ensuring excellent passenger comfort during the five-hour journey," the company release, quoting J&K SRTC officials, said. The buses are air-conditioned (with heating provision) and have 19 pushback luxury seats. Each bus is seven metres long, and offers excellent manoeuvrability, it said.
