Telangana issue: CM strikes a different note

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , March 24

THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, on Thursday said that the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, while fighting the elections together and now being part of the Government does not mean that "we share similar views on all issues."

Stating that the Congress has a different view on Telangana statehood, Dr Reddy said only time will tell whether a Telangana State would come into existence.

Intervening during a heated debate in the House on irregularities in the implementation of a Government Order (number 610) pertaining to jobs for local people in the Telangana region, the Chief Minister appealed to the members of all political parties to confine their discussion to the implementation of the GO.

"I will take any action you want for the implementation of the GO," he said, adding that his Government's objective was to ensure equal development of all regions.
