Chennai , March 25

TVS Motor Company Ltd has been selected by the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) for the `Corporate Citizen Mother Teresa' Award for 2004.

Shakthi Masala Pvt Ltd gets a `commendation award' from LIBA.

A press release from LIBA has said that the Mother Teresa award had been instituted seven years ago to be given away to a model corporate citizen to recognise the corporate's "deep involvement in programmes of social responsibility beyond the call of duty".

This year, Shakthi Masala is to be given the commendation award, because being an unlisted company it is not eligible for the main award, the release says.

The previous recipients of the award were: Titan Industries, TNPL, Orchid Chemicals, IOC, Shriram Investments and Polaris.
