ABT Info.Net gets design deals worth $1,00,000 in 40 days

ABT Info.Net, the data centre at the Dr Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET), has managed to execute engineering drawings and design contracts worth $1,00,000 in 40 days.

Having set the trend, the MCET management is confident of accomplishing deals worth a million dollars in the coming year. It is reliably learnt that mega IT players have hinted at reviewing and off-loading some of their projects to ABT Info.Net.

Established in 2002 on an outlay of Rs 4.5 crore, ABT Info.Net, according to the MCET Vice-Chairman, Mr M. Manickam, is expected to breakeven in the next fiscal. `The future is good.'

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Manickam said the management decided to establish the data centre to give an opportunity for the students to earn an extra pie before graduation.

`Huge projects are off-loaded to renowned companies, but there are no takers for smaller projects. We decided to pitch in and help such of those that looked at off-loading smaller projects. Incidentally, most of the contracts are US-based,' he said.
