Our Bureau

Hyderabad , March 30

SIRPUR Paper Mills Ltd has installed a rotary limekiln with a capacity of 120 tonnes per day. The Rs 20-crore kiln could convert lime sludge into high-purity lime.

"It is mainly useful for solid waste recycling and resource recovery system and to meet lime demand in Mill Development Plan - II," a company press release said here.

Besides, the kiln would reduce intake of limestone significantly.

"At present, 150-180 tonnes a day of limestone is consumed to meet our lime demand.

With the new kiln, consumption would come down," it said.
