Trends DK banks' biz crosses Rs 9,756 cr Our Bureau
Mangalore , March 31 AS many as 352 branches of various banks in Dakshina Kannada district crossed a business of Rs 9,756 crore as on December 2004. These branches mobilised deposits of Rs 6,418 crore and disbursed advances of Rs 3,338 crore during the period. An official release said that this was informed at the District Consultative Committee and District-level review committee meeting for banking development here recently. Syndicate Bank, Lead Bank of the district, organised the meeting. Commending the overall performance of the banks in the district, Mr B.K. Bhat, Regional Manager of Syndicate Bank, urged bankers to focus on agriculture lending. The meeting reviewed the performance of banks under banking statistics, implementation of district credit plan for 2004-05, and government-sponsored schemes. Mr Subodh Yadav, Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, presided over the meeting.
