Caritor has faith in in-house HR team

Anjali Prayag

Bangalore , April 1

ALTHOUGH it's outsourcing that makes the IT industry tick, here's one Bangalore-based IT company that relies more on its internal talent than outside expertise.

At Caritor India, it's a no entry for headhunters and trainers because the company completely relies on its HR team for hiring and training. Mr Srikanth Rao, Head, Human Capital, Caritor India Pvt Ltd, told Business Line, "We have found that we can identify the cultural fit better when we do the recruitment ourselves."

According to him, the employee-employer bonding is better when there is a direct contact between the two, right from the headhunting stage, leading to better expectation management. Employee referrals and campus recruits are the company's main source of talent search.

Caritor India relies on the campus route to source talent for its Bangalore and Chennai development centres.

To make these new recruits productive as soon as they join the organisation, the company has launched a pre-induction programme for students while they are still in college. The pilot project of the six-week pre-induction programme has just concluded at an engineering college in Coimbatore and according to Mr Rao, "we would like to try this at all the campuses from where we recruit''.
