New bank chairmen

This refers to the article, `New Bank Chairmen, thou shall and shalt not' (Business Line, April 1).

The humour in the article reminded one of how chairmen went overboard in declaring their figures of agricultural advances like a ball-by-ball commentary on a cricket match. And all because the Finance Minister was stressing on the need for increasing agricultural credit. Overnight, they found a cure for all the ills that ailed the agricultural sector!

M. Govardhan
