CIL targets 341 mt output

NEW DELHI: Coal India Ltd (CIL) has set a production target of 341.05 million tonnes for fiscal 2005-06 against 323.18 million tonnes in 2004-05, according to an official release.

Of this, Eastern Coalfields Ltd is expected to produce 29.20 million tonnes. Bharat Coking Coal Ltd would be producing 24 million tonnes. Central Coalfields Ltd's planned production target for the year stands at 40 million tonnes. Northern Coalfields production target for the year stands at 50.50 million tonnes and that of Western Coalfields at 41.50 million tonnes.

The target for South Eastern Coalfields Ltd is fixed at 83 million tonnes and for Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd, it is 72 million tonnes. Another 0.85 million tonnes are expected to be produced by the North Eastern Coalfields taking CIL's total production target to 341.05 million tonnes for the year.
