Retailing Osim India plans 50 outlets, targets Rs 100-cr sales in 5 yrs Our Bureau
Hyderabad , April 6 OSIM India, the Indian partner of the Singapore-based $287-million Osim International into the business of healthy lifestyle products, has chalked out an expansion programme. The programme includes setting up of 50 outlets covering major cities and towns across the country and attaining a sales size of Rs 100 crore in the next three-five years, according to the Osim India Managing Director, Mr Shaily Grover. Mr Grover, who was here on Tuesday to launch the company's massage chair - iSymphonic, told Business Line that the company has already set up 10 outlets in the country after its Indian foray in September last year and recorded a turnover of Rs 5 crore. The target for the first 12 months of operations was set at Rs 20 crore, he said. "We have a strategy of setting up shop-in-shops as well as exclusive dedicated outlets. We have prepared a capital expenditure plan of Rs 25 crore for setting up of these outlets. We are currently negotiating with major shopping malls across the country for shop-in-shops," he said. According to Mr Grover, Osim International has been fast becoming the global leader in lifestyle and health related products and is currently operating in 22 countries with over 580 outlets. Osim's health lifestyle products include massage products, nerve stimulators, diagnostic products, and nebulisers, he said.
