Dessert festival at The Residency

THE Residency, Coimbatore, is hosting a Dessert festival from April 8 to April 17 at The Pavilion, its coffee shop. The special dessert spread is offered along with the dinner buffet and will be part of the lunch buffet as well on Sundays.

The special spread will include 17 different dishes from a selection of Continental, Middle-Eastern, Oriental, and Indian desserts every day.

Indian desserts include the famous Bengali Sandesh, the South Indian Poli, the North Indian Shrikhand and fusion baked rasagollas and apple jalebis. The Middle Eastern spread includes the famous Arabic Busbusa.

The Continental dessert spread includes the hunter's gateux, summer fruit gateaux, pineapple crumble pie, and melon mousse, apart from a wide range of pastries, tarts and other bakes. The Oriental fare includes fruit toffee, lychee pudding, Tarzan noodles, and Ice Kachang.

Guests can also order on-the-spot desserts during the festival - jalebis and fruit fritters sizzling off the frying pan; sweet pancakes, poli, ice-cream dosa and chocolate paratha hot off the tava.
