Global meet on GM cotton in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Southern Encounters, an international conference on Bt Cotton and genetic engineering, is being held in Hyderabad today.International experts on Bt cotton, including Mr Witoon Lianchamroon from Thailand, Ms Lim Li Lin from the Third World Network, Mr Lawrence Mkhaliphi from Biowatch, South Africa, Mr Vlady Rivera, an agricultural researcher from Philippines and Ms Colleen Ross from National Farmers Union, Canada will present their experiences.

The two-day meeting, considered one of the first South consultations on genetic engineering in agriculture, is being held at MANAGE and is being hosted by the Deccan Development Society.
