Stock Exchanges Markets - Stocks TCS, NTPC to replace HPCL, Zee in Sensex Our Bureau
Mumbai April 24 IN a major reshuffle in its stock indices, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in its benchmark index, the BSE Sensex, from June 6. These two relatively new entrants to the capital market will be replacing oil major, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Zee Telefilms in the Sensex. Higher market capitalisation by TCS and NTPC helped the two companies to get a berth in the BSE-30 Sensex. A BSE press release on Sunday said the Index Committee of the Exchange, in its meeting held on April 23, decided to make the replacements in BSE indices.The incoming scrips in the BSE-100 index include UltraTech Cement, Petronet LNG, Jindal Vijayanagar Steel, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Century Textiles and Allahabad Bank. The outgoing scrips are Novartis India, TVS Motors, Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers, Polaris Software Lab, Container Corporation of India and Cadila Healthcare in the index. In the BSE-200 index, the in-coming scrips include Bajaj Hindustan, Centurion Bank, Essar Oil, Pantaloon Retail (India) and New Delhi Television, while the outgoing scrips include Exide Industries , Goodlas Nerolac Paints, Pidilite Industries, Thomas Cook (India) and Alfa Laval (India).
