A farmer sitting on a mound of wheat at the Khanna mandi in Punjab, awaiting buyers. The arrival of the crop during the current kharif season is now in the last stages. Wheat production is likely to be around 71 million tonnes, lower than initial estimates. This has led to rise in prices.
