BBC's resident director quits

New Delhi , May 3

THE BBC World's Resident Director for India, Mr Vinod Bakshi, has decided to move on after spending over five years in the organisation.

Commenting on this, an official spokesperson said, "Mr Vinod Bakshi has made significant contributions to the development of BBC World, especially at the time of great change in the broadcasting landscape, successfully promoting the channel."

Mr Bakshi was appointed as resident director in February 2000 and represented the channel's corporate interests in India. He was also responsible for implementing BBC World's global policy guidelines here, said a company official.
