Coimbatore , May 5

THE Managing Committee of the Coonoor Tea Trade Association has clarified that it has not taken any decision on conduct of manual tea auction.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the CCTA Secretary, Mr Mageswaran, clarified that the association had neither received the directive from the Tea Board for conducting manual sale nor had it taken the decision for such a sale.

"We are strictly following the instruction given by the Chairman and Licensing Authority, Tea Board, with regard to conducting electronic auction. Unless we receive the directive from the Tea Board, we will continue to auction 100 per cent only through electronic mode and not by manual sale," the note stated.
