Conference on free software in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Society for Promotion of Alternative Computing and Employment, in association with the Free Software Foundation of India, Hipatia, and the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management - Kerala is organising a two-day conference on free software and related concepts.

The conference, which will begin on May 28, is supported by the Kerala State Information Technology Mission, says an official press release. Delegates from Venezuela, Brazil, Italy and India are expected to participate in the conference.

A business meet being held as part of the conference will enable participants to interact with local information technology businesses that work with free software technologies, the release adds.
