Fuelling partition?

The recent advertisements issued by the Cabinet Secretariat about the formation of Prime Minister's high Level Committee for preparing a report on the status of the Muslim community would only divide the country further. Already some of the concessions given to minority communities serve to fuel the feeling of separateness instead of integrating them into the country's mainstream.

Minorities should be encouraged to consider themselves first as Indians and develop a national identity.
