NDTV plans fourth channel

New Delhi , May 17

THE Prannoy Roy-promoted New Delhi Television Ltd has sought the Government permission to start a fourth news channel, said a statement issued by the company to the stock exchanges.

The New Delhi-based company runs two general news channels, 24x7 in English, NDTV India in the local Hindi language and a business news channel — NDTV Profit.

Details of the proposed channel were not available.

Sources said the new Hindi-English channel could be an infotainment channel with news and other informative shows. Also, it could have some entertainment-related news.
