In the absence of proper facilities for farmers to dry their corn crop, the National Highway, widened as part of the Golden Quadrilateral project, at Poosapatirega village in Vizianagaram district comes in handy. Traffic is sometimes diverted for the purpose. Properly dried corn, used mostly in poultry feed, fetches Rs 6,000 a tonne.
