Rural revolution

While it is good that the UPA government is drawing up schemes for the farm sector, funds allotted to these sectors have not always been audited appropriately to track any improvements.

Second, there seems little scope for open, transparent public auditing. Not all schemes introduced are made known to the farmers.

One solution to all this is to ensure that schemes for the rural sector are formulated on an area basis, after taking the farmers into confidence.
