Coke franchisee invests Rs 40 cr in Maaza plant

New Delhi , May 25

COCA-COLA India's franchisee bottler, Brindavan Beverages Pvt Ltd, has set up a juice manufacturing facility at Bareilly, to meet the increasing demand for fruit drink Maaza.

Set up at an investment of Rs 40 crore, the new plant will use technology imported from Krones of Germany and TetraPak of Sweden with an installed capacity of 2.5 lakh litres per day across different pack sizes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Coke's President and CEO in India, Mr Sanjiv Gupta, said, "The juice drink market in India is growing at an exponential pace. We are planning to increase penetration of the brand Maaza in 750 towns across the country with new flavour extensions."

Coke has already said it will extend the Maaza brand to new flavours such as pineapple and orange.
