Bank credit up Rs 9,698 cr

MUMBAI: Gross bank credit increased by Rs 9,698 crore to touch Rs 11,37,132 crore for the fortnight ended May 13, according to RBI's Weekly Statistical Supplement.

This is inclusive of food credit, which increased by Rs 2,607 crore to touch Rs 44,371 crore, and non-food credit, which increased by Rs 7,091 crore to touch Rs 10,92,760 crore. Total accommodation provided by scheduled commercial banks to the commercial sector increased by Rs 41,699 crore to touch Rs 11,85,981 crore.
