New platforms for office, home PCs

Our Bureau

Mumbai , June 5

WOULDN'T it be great if you could watch your favourite show on TV in your bedroom, while your son is playing his favourite game and your daughter is watching her favourite music channel in another room - all on the same PC?

Or, imagine downloading a document on your office PC and talking with a colleague on the Internet at the same time. And all this without any drop in performance.

Intel India has unveiled its two new platforms for home and office PCs that promise to do just that. "Intel's new home and office platforms mark a new era in personal computers that matches the way people are increasingly using their PCs to work, communicate, entertain and play," said Mr G.B. Kumar, Director, Sales, South Asia, Intel.

Intel hopes to attract home users who are increasingly using their PCs to multitask and manage multi-users, including features like surround sound and graphics. The company's Intel Professional Business Platform, on the other hand, is targeted at the office-PC segment.
