Konica Minolta launches colour printers — Enters into marketing tie-up with HCL Infinet

KONICA Minolta Printing Solutions today announced its entry into the Indian market with the launch of its range of colour printers.

HCL InfiNet, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCL Infosystems, will market and distribute these printers in the country.

"Over the years, HCL has established itself in the imaging business, and it was logical to expand our portfolio with laser printers to provide a complete end-to-end solutions to our customers in the field of imaging," Mr V. Rajendren, General Manager, Marketing, Imaging Products and Solutions, HCL InfiNet, said while announcing the company's distribution tie-up with Konica Minolta here.

With the Indian colour laser printer market growing at over 25 per cent, Konica Minolta hopes to capture a "significant" share of the market with the new range. The newly-launched range includes Konica's `magicolor 2400' and `magicolor 2430 DL' priced at Rs 32,500 and Rs 38,000 respectively and is targeted at small offices and personal use.

The company has also launched `magicolor 5430 DL' printers targeted at institutional customers who have been using monochrome printers to meet their requirements and are looking at moving up the chain with colour printing.

The `Pagepro 1300 W/ 1350 W' mono laser printer is targeted at small business, home offices and executives and is priced in the range of Rs 11,500-12,500.

The new range of printers will be available through HCL's nationwide distribution network that comprises 104 sales and services offices. Konica Minolta is ranked at second position globally in the colour laser printer market with about 25 per cent market share.
