Kerala planters' body denies charge

Our Bureau

KOTTAYAM: The Association of Planters of Kerala (APK) has denied the allegation of plantation labourers that the association is responsible for the delay in reaching an agreement on wage increase.

The labourers had given a notice to APK that they would start an agitation on June 15.

About 22 tea plantations in the State have downed their shutters. The agitation demanding more wages in the tea plantations will paralyse more estates, said Mr P.T. Joseph, Vice-Chairman of APK.
