Oracle eyes mid-market space

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , June 22

ORACLE Corporation is targeting the country's mid-market segment with a re-packaged and custom developed enterprise solution for sectors such as automotives, garments and textiles.

The estimated $2 billion mid-market segment is growing steadily. Only 2,000 of the 50,000 enterprises in this segment have adopted enterprise solutions.

Mr Varanasi Ram Sharma, General Manager — Sales, Oracle India, said, "As Indian enterprises compete with global counterparts, they are forced to adopt best practices to become more efficient. This is possible only through better automation and management of systems and process."

Automotive equipment suppliers were among the first to adopt automation by improving their supply chain. Textile and garment manufacturers followed suit. Addressing newspersons here today, Mr Ram Sharma said the requirement for Indian enterprises were distinctly different. The Oracle team in India has customised the offering to meet local requirements.
