Bangalore , June 22 ENTERPRISE infrastructure software solutions provider BEA Systems plans to double the headcount at its R&D centre in Bangalore over the next one year, according to Mr Shailender Kumar, country head for BEA. The R&D centre at present has around 180 engineers. BEA also runs a customer support centre in Bangalore with around 60 people. The India R&D centre, one of the six centres of BEA worldwide, has actively contributed to the development of the company's product lines such as Weblogic and Aqua Logic, Mr Kumar said. BEA unveiled its new brand identity `Think liquid' and outlined its `Liquid Assets' vision in the country on Wednesday. The company also announced its new AquaLogic product family in the country to address the emerging enterprise software category. `Think liquid' reflects BEA's importance as an independent provider of enterprise infrastructure software that enables free flow of information, businesses processes and services within and across boundaries, said Mr Ernest Chan, head of products for Asia Pacific, BEA. BEA's new vision aims to help companies free their previously isolated or frozen IT assets so that they become liquid assets that combine the power of software applications and the Internet, across both .Net and Java platforms, he said.
